Inspiration

We built ScamShield AI because we kept seeing how common job recruitment scams have become and how damaging they are for genuine job seekers. People are losing money, personal data, and peace of mind simply because there’s no reliable way to verify job listings or recruiters. That problem pushed us to create a system that brings trust and safety back into the job-search process.

What it does

ScamShield AI acts as an AI-powered verification layer for job postings, companies, and recruiters.

It scans and analyzes listings to:

Generate a fraud-risk score
Help users instantly identify suspicious opportunities
Enable a user reporting feature so the system continues to improve over time

How we built it

We focused on keeping the system fast, clean, and scalable.

Frontend: Built using React, Tailwind CSS, and TypeScript.
Backend & AI: For database management and all the AI LLM integrations, we used the Base44 platform.

This stack ensured the AI layer worked smoothly with real-world data while maintaining a responsive UI.

Challenges we ran into

Improving the AI accuracy was one of the biggest challenges. Integrating multiple data sources without slowing down performance and designing a simple, trustworthy UX took a lot of iteration. Making the fraud scoring both reliable and easy to understand also pushed us to refine our approach multiple times.
