Inspiration

We had an interest in learning some game development and found that Swift's SpriteKit would be a good place to start since we are familiar with the language. We wanted to make a simple platformer akin to the App Store classics.

What it does

How we built it

Using Photoshop to edit assets, we used XCode and Swift to write the code itself. Using our knowledge of swift, and Googling skills, we managed to get a working product.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge we ran into was the physics of the node objects and having them interact with each other. Getting the correct trajectory of the Scamper was no doubt the biggest challenge.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We managed to get a working product that can be run on a physical phone in under 24 hours.

What we learned

We went from knowing nothing about game development or SpriteKit to having a decent understanding of it in a 2D world.
