Inspiration
We wanted to be able to track how long we spend studying independently, but we realised that other apps lack extracurricular activity productivity, which is just as important.
What it does
Keeps track of the time you’ve spent studying and doing extracurricular activities or hobbies, allowing you to measure your productivity.
How we built it and Challenges we ran into
We used Figma for the design prototypes and for figuring out the base functionality of the buttons. Then, we wanted to use DhiWise for a smooth porting to Flutter, but unfortunately the free version would only allow us to use 5 of the 15 screens we made, so we had to start from scratch with FlutterFlow. This meant that we couldn't implement all of the functionality, so we had to stick to the main timer and stopwatch functionality. However, as we designed it thoroughly, this means that with a bit more time we could implement all the extra functionality easily.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We chose a colour palette that fits nicely with the light and dark mode, making both versions comfortable for the user's eyes. The overall minimalistic design of buttons and pages allows for a consistent look to the app. As well as this, adding this unique touch of extracurricular activities to our daily productivity makes it stand out from other apps, which only focus on work/study rather than on a healthy balance.
What we learned
It's important to check before starting a project what the free plans for the framework include, as this definitely changed the direction of our project drastically.
What's next for Scale up
We want to finish implementing all of the design ideas so that this app can be used for free for hundreds of students who want a healthy life balance.
