I work for a non profit that makes software for students and adults with disabilities and learning differences. Online tools have made data collection and tracking students success much more effective, but this neglects the student population with disabilities and learning differences.

What I've built with codex, Scaffold learning, applies all those same benefits while empowering that neglected population of students.

The teachers are able to use gpt 5.6 to create online worksheets and homework based of current curriculum or generating problem sets. They can also enter information about each student, including uploading their IEP, to get personalized scaffolding for each student. With specific scaffolding support tools I've built using 20 years of experience from Hope Technology School teaching students with learning differences.

I tried building this tool in Google ai studio and claude code in the last couple of months, but I was unsatisfied with the lack of great end-to-end tools to go from problem and idea to a solution that works in the real world.

Codex's ability to reason over difficult trade offs, test, implement, and keep working until it gets it right is second to none. Along with the suit of api endpoints to use, it has all the right tools needed for any application, at a price that a non-profit like us can afford to use.

I'm really proud of implementing the knowledge of the teachers at the school on what works for students, and being able to scale their knowledge and ability to impact all of their students. It was a great feeling seeing a student enjoy doing math problems because of this, when usually they hate doing them. And they actually learned!!!

Whats next? Continuing to iterate building more functionality for students, making it easier for teachers to help their students (our teachers are awesome, but constantly swamped with all they are trying to do).
