This is probably one of the most random submissions for TeenHacks 2014, but it is spontaneous and original nevertheless. Sbaes (pronounced "space") was a brave attempt by four beginner Java programmers to create a desktop game. From the brainstorming room to the sleeping bags, our game was inspired purely by the time our team spent together. Our initial idea consisted of a mobile social dating app called The Bae Finder. Realizing how ridiculous and unfeasible it was to accomplish with our current scope of skill, we took great leaps backwards to simpler concepts. Immediately the idea of creating a variation of the classic Space Invaders dawned upon us. We ultimately agreed to take on this challenge and named our game Sbaes, a title derived from the combination of the word "Bae" and "Space". We have no particular target user nor audience; we dedicated our time to Sbaes for the sake of learning and self-interest in computer science. Our team is definitely proud of the several aspects that held this game together. Our fantastic graphics designer conjured a duck, and our programmers coded object boundaries and key bindings. We cannot not include the red ball of doom (animation), of course. For four beginner Java programers, we undoubtedly surpassed our personal expectations.
