Inspiration
I wanted to build a party game that focused less on embarrassing the other players and more on uplifting them. Say That You Love Me is based on mutual respect and affection, which makes it different than other party games. It is less about competition and more about just having a nice time together.
What it does
Players are prompted to do a kind thing for another player for 30 seconds, like recalling a nice memory they've had together or naming nice adjectives about them or even giving them a hug.
How I built it
I created the UI design using Figma.
Challenges I ran into
I tried to build the full game through Android Studio, but it was a little too much for me. I had never used that platform before so it was a bit ambitious.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I took my challenges and instead of giving up, I made them work for me!
What I learned
Android Studio is very hard. Seriously, though, I learned that I can't do it all, especially alone. It's important to consider my own skill level when it comes to events like these. I also learned that I enjoy UI design.
What's next for Say That You Love Me
I will eventually build the app in Android Studio, hopefully.
