Inspiration We saw this as one of the common problems which people face in their everyday lives while going to work, college or school. Here is the story of one of the people we talked to:

I consistently encounter the recurring problem of choosing between Shalimar Bagh and Azadpur metro stations. Although Azadpur station is more convenient and closer to my location, I often face difficulties due to the unavailability of e-rickshaws. It is frustrating to find that whenever I need one, there are none in sight. On the rare occasions when there are e-rickshaws at the Azadpur station, another challenge arises: the waiting time. These vehicles usually wait to fill up with passengers before departing, leaving me with no choice but to endure a long wait until the e-rickshaw has enough passengers to begin the journey.

What it does

This app enables different people in the same vicinity to connect with each other to acquire an e-rickshaw ride to a common destination, which is affordable and also saves time.

How we built it

TECHNOLOGY STACK

Flutter We will be designing a cross platform app compatible with both android and ios devices using flutter which is based on dart language Flutter comes with various packages and ui toolkits which helps in creating dynamic and user friendly interfaces Packages used - 1.Geolocator Package
We are using flutter’s geolocator package for obtaining real-time location of the users 2. Mapbox_gl Package We are using flutter’s mapbox_gl package for map services as it provides various features like navigation , static maps , dynamic- movement data etc Firebase Realtime - Database This service provides a way to store and transmit data in real-time without the need for a dedicated backend server . It will be used for chat rooms and for dynamic features in map services .

Challenges we ran into

Difficulty in figuring out the google maps API as it was something very new to all of us. It was challenging to connect everything to the mainfile. Compiling all the pages of the app so that it runs smoothly was also a very tedious task.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Overcoming all the challenges that we ran into and finally making the project.

What we learned

We got to explore Flutter and Android Studio and the various packages involved. We also learnt how to deal with various kinds of errors.

What's next for Sawaar-E

Right now it is only designed for the city of Delhi and is restricted to metro stations, we can expand it to other cities as well. We can also make it both ways, i.e from home to metro stations and other hotspot locations instead of just from hotspot locations to residential areas.
