Inspiration: The current political landscape and interest in apache spark as a machine learning tool
What it does: is a system that utilizes machine learning that helps users see how much their representatives and candidates for elected positions match up the user based on their voting history
How we built it: Using mysql, web development tools, and machine learning tools
Challenges we ran into: The strengths of the APIs used and functionality
Accomplishments that we're proud of:Accessing the APIs and learning their functions, creating a project with multiple parts all on the cloud.
What we learned: The finer points of running databases and websites on the cloud
What's next for Savvy_Independent: t=To do more research and collect better data to be able to fully implement the algorithm.
