💡 Inspiration

I realized most people suck at managing their money — not because they’re irresponsible, but because financial tools are often boring, complicated, or downright intimidating. So we thought: Why not make a friendly AI buddy that helps people take control of their finances without overwhelming them?

That’s how Savr was born — an AI-powered personal finance assistant that’s smart, simple, and kinda fun to talk to.

🔨 How I Built It

I started the project on Bolt.new, using its powerful AI-generated components to kickstart development. The entire UI and component logic were scaffolded using Bolt’s builder, and then customized further with:

  • 💻 React + TypeScript
  • 🎨 Tailwind CSS
  • ⚙️ ReactBits components for beautiful UI
  • 🌀 Parallax scrolling for enhanced UX
  • ☁️ Netlify for deployment

All mockups and design inspiration were pulled from my own sketches and iterated quickly within Bolt’s no-code UI.

🧠 What I Learned

  • How to build real-world web apps using Bolt’s AI-first workflow
  • How to integrate third-party tools into Bolt-generated projects
  • Debugging broken previews, token limits, and adapting fast
  • How powerful prompt engineering can be — if you know what to ask

Most importantly, I learned that great ideas don’t need big teams — just consistency, clear goals, and a tight feedback loop.

🧱 Challenges I Faced

  • ⚠️ Token limits: I had to work smart with Bolt’s daily cap — every prompt had to count.
  • 🧩 Third-party integration: Integrating mockups, badges, and custom themes required tweaking Bolt-generated code by hand.
  • 🚫 India card restrictions: I couldn’t use Bolt’s premium features because my cards weren’t accepted, so I had to get creative on a free plan.
  • 🖥️ Preview crashes: Spline elements caused crashes, and I had to debug deeply into the Vite-powered code and at the end had to remove the 3d model completely.

But every challenge forced me to understand the platform better — and I ended up building something I'm genuinely proud of.

🚀 What's Next?

I'm planning to polish Savr post-hackathon and ship it as a real product. The goal? Help Gen Z manage money better, smarter, and with less stress — all through the power of AI.

This was just the MVP. The future is frictionless finance.
