Inspiration

Our inspiration came from one of our teammates enthusiasm for food. As a food content creator, he desired for an application where he not only was able to share his food ratings with friends but also retain the experience that came with it.

What it does

What Savour does is put feelings before ratings. Rather than focusing on the price or stars, the app puts focus on the person's experience with friends. Upon dining, the system prompts the user several features that are used to retain the personal dining experience such as visual, voice, or text prompts. These prompts are logged in the user's own journal or collaborative journals with their friends.

How we built it

We first began ideating on the brand's identity and who we wanted to focused the app for. We continuously redid designs as we saw fit.

Challenges we ran into

Finding a balance between creating a easy UI to follow and keeping a certain aesthetic was a hurdle for us. We went back to the ideation phase multiple times, iterating though many different designs until we were satisfied.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are happy to be able to make a passion project which we all enjoyed and can see ourselves using. As novices at the time of this creation, we struggled a lot in the fast-paced environment of a Designathon, but we were able to push through together.

What we learned

We all learned a lot about prototyping in Figma and furthermore all kinds of Figma shortcut keybinds!

What's next for Savour

We hope to implement even more features that center around the app's main theme of connection and human experience. With more time on our hands, we would love to refine the UI and UX design more and continually grow from there.
