Inspiration.
The world of Apple Pay and cards are taking over everyday where using cash is becoming more useless and hard to find nowadays. We got inspired of this issue and combined it with helping people at saving money easier and funner.
What it does.
By adding the amount you are trying to save and the due date you want it by, this website/app can separate that amount of money into weekly slots you can pay, BUT there is a twist. If the person missed submitting the amount they had to pay for that week, a machine throws stuff at the person as a form of shame.
How we built it.
We used HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Python for the website and we used an Arduino for the thrower.
Challenges we ran into.
Combining Python with HTML was tricky
Accomplishments that we're proud of.
We see the whole project as an accomplishment, we're very proud that we can combine hardware and software together for this project and the whole process of teamwork in figuring this out has been a learning experience
What we learned
We learned how being coordinated with your teammates can help the project go smoother.
What's next for Savings-inator
If we get an opportunity in the future where our idea can become it's own app, we can add more features where the app can be more interactive between users, like badges or rewards to someone who keeps with the paying up the slots. This can be a great way to be competitive with friend and at the same time save up money for the future.
