SaveSmart and SpendSmart

Inspiration

Our inspiration came from Duolingo's modular and gamified learning method for languages, we wanted to do something similar but for finance

What it does

SaveSmart tracks your progress in the form of experience points as you traverse the various tracks and quizzes. SpendSmart is for the more traditional learner, consisting of lessons and ways to interest the user in their own finances such as a budgeting simulation

How we built it

We built a version of SaveSmart using React and Streamlit, Then We built SpendSmart using solely Streamlit.

Challenges we ran into

Learning new development kits like Streamlit was difficult/

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were proud that we were able to implement the programs given we had no clue how to begin just 24 hours ago.

What we learned

We learned that sometimes its best to just start on the project instead of worrying about every small detail.

What's next for SaveSmart and SpendSmart

Both programs are highly modular, more lessons can be added in the future containing their own fun way of giving the user experience with their new knowledge.
