Inspiration

Find viable and practical solutions for living in a eco-friendly way.

What it does

It allows you to find climate-friendly recipes and compare ingredients across supermarkets, finds the best products out of the supermarket sortiment and gives you recipes.

How we built it

We compiled data from the internet and scraped supermarket websites to make it possible to give a comparison. The product was built using React Native and our backend uses Node.js and MongoDB.

Challenges we ran into

No major road bumps fortunately!

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We reached prototype status, it works, gives actually helpful suggestions based on real data. Over 100 food types, 2000 products and recipe database.

What we learned

We learned about web scraping and learned a lot about the numbers and the science behind food and climate!

What's next for SavEat!

We are close to a product that we are proud to submit to the AppStore
