Save Your Footprint

Inspiration

After realising the enormous carbon footprint of the average person in North America, our team decided to dedicate this project to developing a solution to help individuals track their environmental impact.

What it does

By assigning tasks and using a score system, Save Your Footprint gives an interactive and fun way to make our users' lifestyles more environmentally friendly.

How we built it

We used HTML, CSS and JavaScript to build a website to do the tracking for you!

Challenges we ran into

Throughout this project, our team has encountered numerous challenges. Although we coded in other languages, we had never coded a website before, so it took a ton of research to figure out the kinks. As well as this being our first time using Git to collaborate made it all the harder.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Our team is extremely proud of having created a functional website. We were not expecting to encounter numerous version control issues. However, through countless challenges, we're proud to present Save Your Foot Print.

What we learned

Through this experience, we gained a better understanding of the challenges that software developers face. We encountered the difficulties of collaborating on shared files through Git. It reinforced the value of clear team communication and organization.

What's next for Save Your Footprint

Our team's vision is to expand our website and eventually develop a Save Your Footprint mobile app, which incorporates AI to teach people of all ages how to reduce their environmental footprint and ultimately contribute to a greener world.
