Inspiration

Our inspirations came from Environmental classes and background knowledge about the environment. Having these experiences we felt the need to promote information and raise awareness about these key problems that affect one's life on a day-to-day basis.

What it does

Provides key information learned from these experiences on a locally hosted website. On a few pages.

How we built it

We used VS code as the base IDE for the program development. Using HTML and file organization for better readability. Collaborating through GitHub.

Challenges we ran into

Our main challenges were setting up the tools needed for the program such as downloading the necessary packages for development and collaboration. Our main issue was working with GitHub, as this was all of our _ italics _ 1st times using the program. As well as learning how to code with HTML, and finding data-based references. We attempted to integrate CSS and JS, as well as Python for data wrangling. But because GitHub was causing us issues, we had to focus our efforts elsewhere.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

That we learned the basics of HTML, using GitHub as a collaboration tool, and having it work in a relatively short time. Is something to be really proud of. We are also, proud of the fact that we had built and collaborated with people we did not know before. We have learned valuable collaboration skills needed to build and develop a multi-partnership product.

What we learned

In addition to the software skills, we have learned. We have as well learned how to communicate, work together, use of time management, research, and project development.

What's next for Save The Environment

Integrating elements of CSS, JS, and Data wrangling to overall created a better and cleaner look for the overall website. A big thing that we would like to incorporate is a calculator to promote awareness of one's own CO2 emissions suggesting ways to reduce their footprint. The addition to incorporate corporate CO2 emission data using python.
