Protect Oberlin's greatest mascot
What it does
Using the terminal you will control one Squirrel at a time while the rest move randomly. It is your duty to protect these squirrels.
How we built it
We built it in Python using the Pygame package as our visual component.
Challenges we ran into
Our first problem was that we had to switch out our original project idea as it posed to much of a time commitment. This really took away from the time we could spend on the Save Obie. As well, We originally attempted to use instantaneous movement for the Squirrels but that was too difficult for Pygame to implement. Finally, spelling Squirrel posed a great challenge and lead to many errors.
What we learned
Through this project, we were able improved our collaborative coding. Primarily through how we used the application Live Share, for the first time, to work on the repository at the same time.
What's next for Save Obie
Adding more bombs and more squirrels as the game is not difficult enough. As well as working out some minor bugs.
