Inspiration

Savante a person of learning especially: one with detailed knowledge in some specialized field (as of science or literature)

The development of Savante was inspired by the challenges presented by Bell, Nokia and Rangle.io. Our inspiration for this app came from other well-known match-making applications like Ten Thousand Coffees! We wanted to change the algorithm to human-centred design through shared interests, hobbies and life experiences. This allows mentors and mentees to form real connections. Rather than your average cold email, or LinkedIn connection request.

What it does

Savante is a mentor match-making app, targeted at girls in high school with the objective of bridging the gender inequality gap by connecting a community of professionals and students.

Our focus is on human-centred design through shared interests, hobbies and life experiences.

How we built it

We built Savante using Figma and Bravo Studio. Figma was used to design the User Interface and overall navigation of the application. Bravo Studio was used to create the Mentor Match Test

Challenges we ran into

The challenges we ran into were figuring out how to develop the algorithm, for matching the users with the mentors. We approached this through multiple programming languages and IDE's. Due to time constraints and technical difficulties, we were unable to implement the database to store the mentor match results, in order to generate the Top 10 best matches.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The accomplishments that we're proud of include, an overall robust app idea, a clean design, and a working prototype. Lastly, we are also proud of our effective teamwork during an intensive time crunch.
