Inspiration
We were inspired to make this app because we realized that the cooking community needs an app that is more than just a recipe-sharing platform. We saw an opportunity to create a space where diverse culinary traditions can be celebrated and shared to others in the food community. By allowing users from different backgrounds to share their unique recipes and stories, we aim to build a community where everyone feels inspired to express their creativity through cooking.

What it does
Users can navigate through the community page to gain inspiration from other chefs. There are options to save the recipes and to look back on your past posts. One can also filter through other cultures’ cuisines in order to learn more about other foods.

How we built it
We built Sauté using Figma and Canva for the logo. We also used iMovie to edit our video.

Challenges we ran into
Some of the challenges we faced doing this project is figuring out a unique topic to answer the prompt in a creative way. We also had problems with the spacing in our prototype and the formatting with some of the elements on our pages.

Accomplishments that we're proud of
Some of the accomplishments that we are proud of include being able to design a logo that fits with our theme, finishing the project in a timely manner, and being able to design a project that we are proud of. Other accomplishments that we have include being able to collaborate with one another to agree on the layout of our buttons as well as making our app inclusive of all cultures and foods.

What we learned
We learned that designing an app definitely takes collective time and effort to ultimately make an app that is accessible for everyone. Despite our different opinions on the placement of certain features, we were able to compromise and be proud of our final design prototype. We also improved on our design skills by adding new iterations to our prototype such as scrolling.

What's next for Sauté
We hope to have more options available in the future, such as a video posting option for recipes and collaboration with other companies to provide even more options for our users.
