Inspiration
We believe that digital overwhelm affects everybody, and those who are busy struggle to keep up with inbox management. Time is a luxury, and you can't buy more of it, so we envisioned an AI assistant that makes digital life accessible, less stressful, and frees up more of your time.
What it does
SaturdAI is a voice enabled personal assistant that helps users manage their digital life through summarizing emails, drafting replies, calendar integration and conversational memory.
How we built it
Frontend: Electron, React, TypeScript and Tailwind CSS Backend: FastAPI, PostgreSQL, Google OAuth AI/LLM: OpenRouter Speech: Gradium SDK
Challenges we ran into
Initially, the AI couldn't reference previously mentioned emails which we solved using message IDs in summaries. Another issue we faced was token efficiency, as we had to manage large email conversations while also staying within our token budgets.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of the fact that we were able to have full voice-to-voice conversations with AI reasoning, alongside a full email approval workflow. We're also happy that we were able to create this application and make it cross-platform, having it ready for deployment on any computer.
What we learned
We learned a lot about how AI agents work best with explicit guidelines in system prompts, alongside the fact that long-term user value came from reducing their cognitive load, and not solely just by creating and adding features.
What's next for SaturdAI
Hopefully, we'll be able to create a mobile companion for SaturdAI for on-the-go voice commands, alongside a meeting booking system, allowing users to slot their availabilities and have an AI automatically choose the best time for those users.
