During my research, I realized that despite India being rich in forests, many important forest regions like Satpura Forest do not have a proper online presence. Tourists and nature enthusiasts often struggle to find accurate information about these forests and their ecosystems. Existing government websites are often not fully functional and fail to provide adequate support or complete information.
This inspired me to create a dedicated website for Satpura Forest – The Land of Seven Hills, aiming to provide travelers with reliable and comprehensive information about the forest, its attractions, wildlife, and surrounding areas.
While building the project, we faced several challenges, particularly regarding gathering accurate information. Most online resources were incomplete or outdated, making it difficult to provide travelers with detailed insights. Despite these hurdles, we worked hard to compile a reliable source of information for anyone planning to visit the forest.
Why This Ecosystem Is Important: Many Adivasi (tribal) families live in and around the Satpura Forest. These communities have had limited access to facilities, employment, and resources. Incidents due to lack of infrastructure and opportunities are common, and most of the rural population struggles to find jobs. Establishing a Satpura Forest tourism ecosystem can create sustainable employment, improve infrastructure, and provide a new life for the local people. This project is inspired by initiatives like the Statue of Unity Project, Bharat, and aims to positively transform the surrounding districts and uplift the lives of nearby tribal communities.
Future Scope:
- Integrate full functionality including safari bookings, travel passes, hotel and resort bookings, and farmhouse reservations.
- Expand coverage to nearby towns and districts, creating a comprehensive Satpura tourism ecosystem.
- Encourage sustainable tourism while supporting local communities and providing a new life to the region’s tourism sector.
