Inspiration
Planning travel usually means juggling maps, reviews, translators, notes, and screenshots. We wanted one calm place where discovery, verification, and planning all happen together—without losing context.

What it does
Satori is a multimodal travel chat that lets users identify places from photos, search real Yelp data, translate on the go, and save locations into itineraries—all in one persistent conversation.
How I built it
I built a mobile-first web app with a persistent chat agent and layered UI. Yelp AI API powers all business discovery and verification, while multimodal AI interprets images and user inputs inside the chat.
Challenges we ran into
Keeping the chat agent persistent across navigation, enforcing strict no-overlap layouts at all screen sizes, and coordinating multimodal inputs with real Yelp lookups without breaking flow.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
A single chat experience that handles discovery, image-based POI identification, and itinerary building—without resetting context and without relying on mock data.
What we learned
Good travel tools aren’t about more features—they’re about reducing cognitive load. Persistence, spacing, and trust in real data matter more than flashy UI.

Immediately working on trip planning with friends to release 12/20/2025. Expanding itinerary tools, deeper translation and accessibility features, and more contextual Yelp insights—while keeping the experience simple and conversational.
