The Satisfied Smiles app is a platform that connects food donors with those in need. With rapid growth in technology, a sustainable project can be implemented. By providing access to nutritious meals to the needy, food donations can also improve health outcomes and overcome poverty, promoting social and economic development. And we can tremendously decrease food waste. Area of focus: leftover cooked meals of the day from restaurants, food products from households By making it easier to donate surplus or unsold food, our app helps to reduce food waste and nourish communities in need. The goal of the app is to create a positive impact and improve the lives of people in need through the power of food donation. With its focus on sustainability and responsibility, your app is a testament to the idea that small actions can have a big impact, and that together we can create a better future for all.

🪶What it does

The app includes a registration form for restaurants, information about the goals and mission of the app, and a help section for users. With its focus on sustainability and responsibility, our app makes it simple and convenient for restaurants to make a positive impact and improve the lives of people in need.

👩🏼‍💻How we built it

We built this app using Frontend Technologies such as ReactJs, Styled Components and Material UI

✨Challenges we ran into

We tried to implement the Twilio API service for the donation registration form that would enable users to directly contact the team for further process, but we experienced multiple issues from the Twilio while sending the SMS. Hence this feature is to be set as a future implementation.

Created a beautiful UI with a seamless and user-friendly interactive website.

🔖What we learned

Since it is our first time joining a hackathon, we learned various insides and outs of frontend technologies in React, mainly with the usage of Material UI.

🌍What's next for Satisfied Smiles

Adding backend service with NodeJS and Firebase - Sign Up, Login Authentication Features. Google dialogue flow chatbot integrated with Twilio.
