Inspiration

I was inspired by a love for space and the challenge of visualizing real-time satellite orbits in a 3D environment.

What it does

Satellite Tracker 3D displays live satellite positions and orbits around Earth. Users can click satellites to see detailed info.

How we built it

Built with Next.js, React Three Fiber, and Three.js. Uses real satellite data (TLE) from N2YO API, custom shaders for Earth, and interactive info panels.

Challenges we ran into

Accurate orbit calculation, smooth 3D rendering, real-time data integration, and designing user-friendly info panels.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Realistic 3D visualization, live data integration, and interactive satellite info panels.

What we learned

Advanced 3D graphics, real-time data handling, shader programming, and UI/UX design.

What's next for Satellite Tracker 3D

Add more satellites, improve visuals, add features like filtering and alerts, and optimize performance.
