SatCompare for ESA Challenge - Galileo Mastermind
Most existing GNSS monitoring apps do not include sensor data from mobile phones. However, this information is crucial, particularly for understanding chipset performance and providing enhancement suggestions to manufacturers for achieving more accurate position data.
In our project, we developed a mobile app that collects sensor data such as IMU, barometer readings, steps, satellite provider information, and positions. This app transmits these data points in real-time via Wi-Fi or cellular networks, enabling additional applications like using outdoor mobile phones as relays to indoor mobile phones.
The mobile app, built on Kotlin, transmits data via HTTP, including latitude, longitude, and Carrier-to-Noise ratio (C/N) of various satellites. This facilitates analysis to determine if dual-frequency supporting phones perform better, aiding in chipset comparison based on C/N
