Inspiration
SAT 500 was inspired by the love of learning, competition, and gamification. We wanted to make vocabulary building fun and engaging by turning it into a race, combining education with the thrill of competition.
What it does
SAT 500 is a race-themed educational game where Redditors earn miles by using rare SAT words in meaningful posts. A leaderboard tracks progress over 500 miles, and a built-in tool helps users learn and use words effectively. It fosters creativity, vocabulary building, and friendly competition.
How we built it
SAT 500 leverages:
- Reddit API: To track word usage and validate context.
- NLP models: For context verification.
- Frontend: Built with React for an engaging user interface.
- Backend: Node.js handles leaderboard updates and interactions.
- Educational Tool: Provides definitions, etymology, and example uses.
