Inspiration Sasha Starlink was inspired by the idea of having an intelligent companion like “Sara”(Bluetooth-controlled Welcome Bot) and “Alex”(Small AI Bot). These systems feel personal, responsive, and adaptive. We wanted to go beyond a basic chatbot and create something that truly understands context, supports decision-making, and grows with the user. As students passionate about robotics and aerospace innovation, we imagined an AI that feels like a mission control assistant — reliable, fast, and always ready.
What it does Sasha Starlink is a Gemini-powered intelligent assistant designed to: Provide contextual, real-time responses Assist with research and learning Support creative and technical problem-solving Adapt to user interaction patterns Deliver fast and accurate insights It acts as a personal AI co-pilot for students, creators, and innovators.
How we built it We built Sasha Starlink using: Gemini API for advanced reasoning and language understanding A structured backend to manage user input and response handling Prompt engineering techniques to enhance contextual awareness A responsive interface for smooth user interaction The system is designed to scale and evolve with future integrations.
Challenges we ran into Fine-tuning prompts to reduce vague or generic responses Handling API response latency Structuring meaningful context memory Designing an interface that feels futuristic but usable We learned that building AI is less about code and more about precision thinking.
Accomplishments that we’re proud of Successfully integrating Gemini API for intelligent response generation Creating a clean and functional AI assistant system Improving response relevance through prompt optimization Building a scalable foundation for future AI extensions Tamil Nadu's First Humanoid AI Assistant built by students
What we learned The importance of structured prompts How large language models interpret context The balance between speed and accuracy How to design AI systems that feel intuitive We realized AI development requires both creativity and technical discipline.
What’s next for Sasha Starlink Adding multimodal capabilities (image + text processing) Implementing memory layers for long-term personalization Expanding into STEM-focused assistance Exploring real-world robotics integration
Sasha Starlink is not just a project, it’s a place where innovation starts and innovators are born.
Sasha is also the first Humanoid Robot made by students in our state which is Tamil Nadu,India.
