Inspiration

Our inspiration for Sapro came from the increasing threat to global tree populations, particularly saplings. We wanted to develop a solution that would leverage technology to protect these vulnerable young trees and ensure their growth into healthy, mature trees.

What it does

Sapro is an app that uses geospatial technologies to track saplings and monitor their growth. With the app, users can easily locate saplings in their area, see their progress over time, and get alerts if any issues arise that could threaten their survival. The app also provides helpful tips for how users can contribute to the protection and growth of these young trees.

How we built it

Sapro was built using a combination of programming languages and frameworks, including React, Javascript, and Nodejs. We also utilized various geospatial technologies such as GPS and mapping APIs to accurately track the location of saplings.

Challenges we ran into

One of the biggest challenges we faced was integrating the various geospatial technologies we were using into a cohesive system that would accurately track saplings in real time. We also had to find ways to optimize the app's performance and make it easy to use for people of all technical skill levels.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud to have developed an app that has the potential to make a real impact on the environment by protecting saplings and promoting the growth of healthy trees. We are also proud of the way we were able to collaborate as a team to overcome challenges and bring the app to life.

What we learned

Through the development of Sapro, we learned a lot about the power of geospatial technologies and how they can be used to solve real-world problems. We also learned the importance of teamwork and effective communication in software development.

What's next for Sapro

In the future, we plan to expand the capabilities of Sapro to include additional features such as real-time alerts for environmental hazards, personalized tips for tree care based on location and tree species, and social features that allow users to connect and collaborate on environmental initiatives. We also hope to partner with environmental organizations to raise awareness of the importance of protecting saplings and promoting healthy tree growth.
