Inspiration

Our inspiration for Saphire is to help those who don't have access to a safe environment to find opportunities in their desired career filed. 24.9 million workers have been trafficked to date. Many of there people are like our parents who came from places of less opportunity. Here at Saphire, out hearts go out to this goal and we are working hard so others can possibly relax.

What it does

Saphire is a job portal that allows you to search for a job that you will love without the risk of labor trafficking and unfair wage offers. We also have a community of many blue collar workers that share their experience and possible struggles moving forward to their next job.

How I built it -

Saphire is build on the react framework with typescript and hosted on Microsoft Azure.

Challenges I ran into

We struggled with deployment due firewall and connectivity.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

The project as a whole as this is our first hackathon.

What I learned

Many things were learned and utilized during Shellhacks. Languages such as Typescript, JS, CI, React. As well as that we have been using and learning Azure.

What's next for Saphire - Empower the Blue

Our goal is to launch and become a live service to all who need. Many improvements and new features are in the works and being tested.
