Inspiration

As AI becomes increasingly embedded in enterprise decision-making, the biggest challenge is no longer model accuracy — it is trust.

In real business environments, decisions must be explainable, auditable, and aligned with human responsibility. This project was inspired by the growing gap between powerful AI capabilities and the governance, transparency, and oversight required to safely use them at scale.

What it does

SAP TrustLayer AI is a governance-first Business AI layer designed to sit on top of AI-enabled enterprise workflows.

It adds transparency, contextual explanations, risk signaling, and human-in-the-loop controls to AI-driven decisions, helping organizations adopt Business AI without losing accountability or control.

How it works

The solution is designed as a modular layer integrated with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).

It intercepts AI-driven decisions, enriches them with contextual metadata, governance rules, and explainability signals, and routes critical decisions through configurable human oversight workflows when required.

Challenges and learnings

One of the main challenges is balancing automation with responsibility.

Building trustworthy AI for enterprises is not about replacing humans, but about designing systems where humans remain accountable, informed, and empowered. This project explores how Business AI can scale responsibly within complex organizational environments.
