Inspiration

We chose the topic of healthcare and how technology can improve patient care after treatment. We also drew from personal experiences where we had symptoms but didn't know what to do. From this, we developed the idea of SantAI. The name comes from the French word for health, santé, combined with the word 'AI'.

What it does

Pre-doctor features: Virtual Doctor: An AI where the patient can describe their symptoms and it will provide general assistance. If medical attention is required, it will refer the patient to the appropriate medical facility (family doctor if available, walk-in clinic, hospital, etc.). It will then search for the appropriate medical facility closest to the patient's location and show directions to the facility.

Find Offices Nearby: Searches for the desired medical facilities near a location (defaults to the location of the user) and provides details such as hours of operation and how to see a medical professional at the facility.

Pre-Operation: If a patient has a surgery scheduled, the app will display advice from the doctors on how to prepare for the operation. The app can also transcribe the doctor's advice if needed. The app will inform the patient of important surgery details such as potential risks, life after the operation, general information about the surgery and how the surgery works (if desired). The app will also send reminders if the patient needs to fast before the operation and comfort the patient when waiting for the surgery. The app can also scan and translate important documents regarding the surgery.

Post-Operation: If necessary, the app can transcribe and scan documents provided by doctors that describe the recovery process and next steps after the surgery. The app can provide reminders to the patient to take medications or perform specific habits.
