Inspiration
Sanjivani Care was inspired by a personal experience. I lost both my paternal grandparents, and their loss made me think deeply about healthcare in India. We have talented doctors, medical facilities, and medicines, but I believe there is still a need to make healthcare information, timely guidance, and access to medical support easier for everyone, regardless of their financial background or location. As a Class 9 student, I wanted to turn this thought into something meaningful. That is how Sanjivani Care began: an idea to make healthcare more accessible, inclusive, and connected.
What it does
Sanjivani Care is a healthcare app concept designed to make healthcare information and support more accessible, inclusive, and connected. The idea came from my personal experience of losing both my paternal grandparents and my desire to contribute towards improving healthcare accessibility in India. The platform aims to connect patients, doctors, hospitals, and healthcare staff in one place. Its planned features include patient and healthcare-staff access, AI-assisted health awareness, multilingual accessibility, sign-language support, a Staff SOS System for emergencies, and a Health Observatory for presenting and understanding health-related information. My goal is to create a platform that helps people navigate healthcare services more easily, regardless of their language, background, or location. Sanjivani Care is intended to support medical professionals, not replace them or provide a substitute for professional diagnosis.
How we built it
I started by identifying problems people may face while accessing healthcare information and support. I then organised my ideas into features and planned how patients and healthcare staff would interact with the platform. As a Class 9 student, I explored no-code app-building tools to turn my concept into an interactive prototype. I focused on the user journey, the structure of the app, and how its different sections could work together. I also worked on presenting the idea clearly so that others could understand its purpose and potential. The current prototype represents an early stage of development. Some features still require further implementation, testing, and expert guidance.
Challenges we ran into
One of my biggest challenges was turning a broad problem like healthcare accessibility into a practical app concept. Healthcare involves sensitive personal information, medical accuracy, accessibility, and user safety, so every feature needs careful thought. Another challenge was developing the project with limited technical resources and experience. I had to break a large vision into smaller components and explore ways to demonstrate the idea without having a complete development team. I also realised that features such as AI-assisted health information and emergency support cannot simply be added to an app and considered reliable. They require appropriate safeguards, testing, privacy protection, and collaboration with qualified professionals.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I am proud that I took a personal experience and turned it into an idea aimed at addressing a real-world problem. Instead of keeping the idea as a thought, I began shaping it into a digital product and exploring how its features could work together. I am especially proud of developing the concept beyond a basic healthcare information app. Sanjivani Care includes ideas for accessibility, healthcare-worker support through the Staff SOS System, and the Health Observatory. As a school student, taking the first steps towards building a healthcare technology project has encouraged me to keep learning, improving the prototype, and seeking feedback from people who understand healthcare and technology.
What we learned
This project taught me that innovation begins with understanding a problem, but building a useful solution requires much more than a good idea. It requires research, planning, user-friendly design, technical learning, and an understanding of the people who will use the product. I also learned the importance of making technology inclusive. Language, disability, location, and access to reliable information can affect how people experience healthcare. A responsible solution must consider these differences from the beginning. Most importantly, I learned to think critically about privacy, medical safety, and the limitations of AI. Healthcare technology must be developed responsibly, with appropriate expert involvement and testing before it is used in real medical situations
What's next for SanjivaniCare
My next step is to improve the interactive prototype, make the main user journeys clearer, and determine which features can be implemented reliably. I want to explore patient and healthcare-staff access, multilingual support, accessibility features, the Staff SOS System, and the Health Observatory in greater detail. I also hope to seek feedback from doctors, hospitals, developers, and potential users to understand their needs and identify practical improvements. In the longer term, I want to explore secure data handling, responsible AI integration, and partnerships that could help transform Sanjivani Care into a tested and useful healthcare platform. My vision is to develop Sanjivani Care into a solution that makes healthcare information easier to understand and healthcare services easier to navigate. I know there is a lot left to learn and build, but this project is my first step towards turning that vision into reality.
