🧬 About the Project: Sanjeevani AI

💡 Inspiration

Our idea is inspired by the urgent and ongoing struggles faced by Thalassemia patients across India — especially their dependence on regular blood transfusions and the difficulty in finding timely donors. We were particularly moved by the work done by Blood Warriors and how they’ve mobilized support manually through networks like Blood Bridge.

We realized that there’s a gap in real-time coordination, predictive planning, and continuous donor engagement — all of which can be solved using technology. That’s what led us to propose Sanjeevani AI.

💭 What We Aim to Learn

Through this project, we aim to:

  • Understand how AI/ML can be applied in healthcare logistics, especially for blood donation.
  • Explore human-centric design to make donor engagement meaningful and sustainable.
  • Learn to build secure, interoperable systems that integrate with public platforms like e-RaktKosh.
  • Apply gamification and behavioral science principles to real-world, life-saving contexts.

🛠️ How We Plan to Build It

If selected, we will:

  1. Build a responsive web/mobile interface (using Flutter) for donors, patients, and coordinators.
  2. Train an AI model on simulated donor behavior to predict availability patterns using historical trends (e.g., logistic regression or LSTM for time series).
  3. Develop a gamification module to award badges, ranks, and donation streaks, encouraging continued participation.
  4. Implement a basic multilingual chatbot for patient support and FAQs about Thalassemia care.
  5. Simulate API integration with e-RaktKosh and Blood Bridge to validate flow.
  6. Ensure data privacy using Firebase Auth and AES encryption for sensitive user data.

📈 Impact Goals

Our idea hopes to:

  • Reduce critical delays in blood access for Thalassemia patients through predictive donor alerts.
  • Strengthen recurring donations using gamification and timely nudges.
  • Build a scalable platform that NGOs like Blood Warriors can use across India.
  • Empower patients with AI-driven support and education in regional languages.

⚠️ Anticipated Challenges

We foresee challenges in:

  • Obtaining real datasets to train AI models — we may need to simulate or use synthetic data initially.
  • Ensuring data security and compliance with healthcare information policies.
  • Creating a motivational system that genuinely encourages recurring donors, without feeling like a “game.”
  • Securing access or approval to integrate with public health APIs.

📅 Development Timeline

⏳ Hackathon Milestone:

  • Design the UI/UX wireframes.
  • Build a working MVP with:

    • Donor registration and alert system.
    • Basic AI prediction model (offline-trained).
    • Mock API for integration with e-RaktKosh.
    • Chatbot prototype with basic patient queries.

🚀 Post-Hackathon Milestones:

  • Expand real-time data handling.
  • Full AI training with more data and location intelligence.
  • Launch beta in collaboration with Blood Warriors.
  • Onboard hospitals and government systems for full deployment.

🧾 Final Thoughts

Sanjeevani AI is not just an idea — it's our commitment to saving lives using intelligence, empathy, and design. We believe this project has the potential to transform the way blood donation works in India and amplify the incredible efforts of organizations like Blood Warriors.
