Inspiration

Thalassemia patients depend on regular blood transfusions, timely medical care, and continuous monitoring, yet many struggle with delayed access, poor coordination, and lack of personalized guidance. We were inspired by the real challenges faced by patients, caregivers, and healthcare workers in managing a lifelong condition with limited digital support. SanjeevAI was born from the idea that AI should not just treat illness, but prevent suffering by enabling early action and smarter care.

What it does

SanjeevAI is an AI-powered healthcare assistant designed to support Thalassemia patients, doctors, and blood-care networks.

It helps by:

Monitoring patient health indicators and transfusion schedules

Predicting risk scenarios before they become critical

Assisting doctors with summarized patient insights

Improving coordination between patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers

The goal is early intervention, reduced complications, and better quality of life for Thalassemia patients.

How we built it

We designed SanjeevAI as a modular, scalable AI system, focusing on feasibility and real-world healthcare constraints.

Core components include:

AI/ML models for risk prediction and pattern detection

Secure backend for patient data handling

Frontend dashboard for patients and doctors

Rule-based + AI-assisted alerts for early warnings

The system is designed to be privacy-first, GDPR-compliant, and adaptable for hospitals, NGOs, and healthcare programs.

Challenges we ran into

Designing an AI solution that supports doctors without replacing them

Ensuring data privacy and ethical AI use in healthcare

Balancing medical accuracy with limited real-world datasets

Keeping the solution simple enough for patients while powerful enough for clinicians

These challenges pushed us to focus on clarity, safety, and practical impact rather than overengineering.

Accomplishments that we’re proud of

Creating a focused AI solution for a specific, underserved medical condition

Designing an early-warning and prevention-first approach

Structuring the system to be clinically supportive and ethically responsible

Building a concept that is technically feasible and socially impactful

Most importantly, we built something that can genuinely improve lives, not just showcase technology.

What we learned

Healthcare problems require deep empathy, not just technical skill

AI in medicine must prioritize trust, transparency, and safety

Small, well-defined solutions can have huge real-world impact

Collaboration between technology and medicine is essential for meaningful innovation

What’s next for SanjeevAI – A Beacon of Hope for Thalassemia Patients

Next steps include:

Clinical validation with doctors and NGOs

Integrating real patient data in a secure environment

Expanding predictive models for complications

Adding blood donation coordination features

Piloting SanjeevAI with hospitals and care organizations

Our vision is to grow SanjeevAI into a trusted AI companion for lifelong care, starting with Thalassemia and expanding to other chronic conditions.
