Inspiration I wanted to solve unsafe menstrual waste disposal in slums causing pollution, infections, and stigma.

What it does SaniSort is an AI smart bin that detects, separates, and treats menstrual waste safely, with an educational app.

How I built it I used AI image models, sensors, IoT, a mobile app, and a cloud backend to build the prototype.

Challenges I ran into Training AI models, integrating low-cost hardware, and designing for low-resource users were challenging.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of I built a working prototype combining AI and hardware into a user-friendly, stigma-free solution.

What I learned I learned AI edge computing, hardware-software integration, and designing for social impact.

What's next for SaniSort I’ll improve detection, collaborate with NGOs, and scale manufacturing for larger impact.
