What is Sangham

Sangham is a volunteer event board that minimize the stress of the volunteering experience for both the volunteer and event organizers. Organizers create a simple post that contains the necessary information of the event.

Simply RSVP for an event and our system will notify you a few hours before the event starts through Twilio. RSVP-ing only requires a phone number and a name. No account necessary.

How we built it

Sangham was build with a client/api architecture, our backend API was written in Python with FastAPI and our frontend was written in TypeScript with NextJS.

Challenges we ran into

The largest challenge we ran into during this hackathon was time. There were many features we wanted but that only ever got half implemented, or not at all. One other big challenge we ran into was authentication.

What we learned

During this we learned the importance of laying out what you need in a project ahead of time.

What's next for Sangham

If we decide to continue with Sangham one major feature needed is a map view. Event's will be placed on this map where they are being hosted, making it easier to find events near you.
