🌾 Inspiration

It all began in a small village in Odisha, where healthcare is a distant promise and silence is often the only companion of pain. My mother — Bandita Das — has always been the backbone of our family and our village. But when she herself fell sick and had no proper access to women-specific health care, I realized something bigger: millions of rural women in India silently suffer every single day.

Her struggle became my mission. She became the first Sangata card holder, the first patient, and later, the co-founder of Sangata. What started as a personal fight for her health transformed into a larger vision for the wellbeing and dignity of every rural woman in India. 800$ fund from ravenshaw university incubation also inspired us to do further .

🛠️ What It Does

Sangata is India’s first comprehensive rural women’s health and legal care ecosystem — operating both online and offline.

Our solution includes:

  • 🌐 Offline + Online Healthcare Access: Period tracking, PCOD/PCOS care, mental health, breast cancer detection & more.
  • 🚑 Door-to-Door Testing & Monthly Health Camps by trained Sangata Didis.
  • 📍 GPS-Enabled Patient Mapping and ambulance coordination for timely care.
  • 💼 Legal Support Platform for rural women to confidentially report abuse, get rights education, and legal aid.
  • 📊 Admin Dashboard with live patient health tracking, prescription upload, and predictive alerts.
  • 🔬 New Device Research: Low-cost diagnostic tools custom-made for rural India.
  • 🤝 Community Bonding: Sangata Didis build trust, awareness, and long-term care relationships in the field.

🚀 How We Built It

We used: we use -i use primerly bolt for all frotened and backened stuff by adding small codes by myself.

  • Supabase for authentication, database, and secure file upload.
  • Next.js & Tailwind for frontend UI.
  • React + Chart.js for real-time health visualization.
  • Custom API layers for patient-location mapping and dashboard syncing.
  • Manual and automated testing in offline settings with low internet access.

We also built a Sangata Admin Panel, where authorized field workers can:

  • Upload prescriptions
  • Update period/mental health trackers
  • Log symptoms
  • Track ambulance dispatch

🧠 What We Learned

We learned that:

  • Technology needs empathy.
  • Rural women don’t need just an app. They need a system they can trust, that comes to them in their language, in their village, and listens to them.

We learned how to combine medical systems, legal rights, cultural realities, and digital tools into one simple interface.

We also understood the importance of offline-first thinking, data privacy in low-literacy environments, and building trust with dignity.

⚠️ Challenges

  • Working with poor/no internet rural areas.
  • Making legal help confidential and accessible.
  • Convincing women to share health info where even talking about it is taboo.
  • Balancing scalability with empathy.

But the hardest part? Seeing women silently endure — and knowing we’re still just beginning.

🙌 Future Vision

We want to deploy Sangata across multiple states, launch the Sangata Card for medical/legal aid access, and collaborate with government health departments and NGOs. We're also prototyping IoT-powered rural diagnostic devices for scalable screening.

Our mission is simple but bold:

Every rural woman. Heard. Healed. Empowered.

Built by a son and his mother — for every mother.
