Inspiration
Our inspiration stems from our shared passion as college students to democratize cryptocurrency education. We believe in making this transformative space accessible to all, regardless of financial resources, and empowering individuals to understand and participate in the crypto revolution.
What it does
Sand Dollar Exchange is a educational website that also functions as an interactive application to develop cryptocurrency trading skills without financial risk.
How we built it
Sand Dollar Exchange was built using html, JavaScript, CSS, and uploaded to GitHub.
Challenges we ran into
We encountered several challenges during the development process. While we successfully implemented CSS design files and JavaScript, creating a robust signup/login system and efficiently pulling data from an API for the game proved to be more time-consuming than anticipated. These obstacles have provided us with valuable learning experiences and opportunities for future improvements.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
An accomplishment we are proud was getting the cryptocurrency graph to work despite not getting the API, by instead using a random number generator to pull data from the range of the previous year's bitcoin price.
What we learned
Our team learned a lot about website interface, API's, as well as how to mesh together different coding languages.
What's next for Sand Dollar Exchange
Next up for Sand Dollar Exchange, we're focused on improving user experience, completing user accounts, seamless API integration, enhanced education, community building, and developing a mobile app for a more immersive crypto trading experience!
