Inspiration
Patients often forget symptoms or struggle to describe them accurately. Doctors can only work with what they’re told, leading to delays, misdiagnoses, and frustration. We wanted a solution that gives patients a clear voice in their own care.
What it does
SanClara tracks symptoms in real time and generates doctor-ready reports. Users can see patterns, note severity, and share a comprehensive record with their healthcare provider—so nothing is ever missed.
How we built it
We used a React frontend for seamless input and visualization, a Django backend to store and process symptom data, and AI-powered analysis to summarize patterns and highlight key details for doctors.
Challenges we ran into
Balancing usability with detailed tracking was tough. Ensuring the reports were clear for doctors without overwhelming patients took several design iterations. Integrating AI summarization efficiently also tested our backend.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We built a working prototype in under a week that records, analyzes, and summarizes symptoms in a way that’s immediately useful for doctors—turning complex health data into actionable insights.
What we learned
Real-world health tracking is about clarity, trust, and simplicity. Even powerful AI is only helpful when the user experience is intuitive, and small UI tweaks can make a huge difference in usability.
What's next for SanClara
We plan to add automated reminders, deeper pattern recognition, and integration with wearable health devices to make monitoring seamless and even more actionable for patients and doctors alike.
