Sampah Aja

💡 Inspiration

Garbage as one of the most significant contributors to various environmental problems, climate change, loss of biodiversity, and chemical pollution. So I thought of overcoming it.

The next reason, my mother is a trader in the village. Almost every day they produce plastic and cardboard (recycled) waste. he collects to sell to scrap buyers (roving). the junkyard sometimes didn't pass by our house, so we waited for the junkyard to pass. Therefore, the garbage in our house accumulates and I think it happens in many houses in Indonesia, especially traders like my mother.

💻 What it does

I am thinking of solving this problem using a digital application. I made an application that became a bridge (connection) between the community and the junkyard, so that it could reduce the garbage in the house. Not only that, the junkman (Tukang Rongsokan) also benefits, he doesn't need to travel for miles to find customers, he just waits for orders from customers through the Sampah Aja application.

Not only that, I also made an excellent feature, namely Scan Trash, Users no longer need to sort out dirty and disgusting garbage, just separate them and take photos using the Trash application and then scan, from the scan results, the type of waste can be organic (compost) or inorganic ( recycle).

⚙️ How we built it

🧠 Challenges we ran into

• I have to think of a multiplatform application so that it can be used on multiple platforms
• Looking for a suitable AI model for the application I'm currently developing
• Regardless of my goals and aspirations for the project, i had to finish building a viable product within that timeframe.

🏅 Accomplishments that we're proud of

• Implementing a working and functioning prototype of our idea
• Designing and developing a minimalist and clean user interface through a new UI library and reusable components with a integrated design
• Implemented AI in my project, which was very helpful for others

📖 What we learned

• I learned how to apply the right method in developing applications within the allotted time
• I learned how we as humans, must be reactive to the natural surroundings
• i learned how to use AI model in flutter

🚀 What's next for Sampah Aja

• I will add the payment feature through the Sampah Aja application
• I will add an AI model so that the accuracy of the trash scan is more accurate
• I want to collaborate with the relevant government so that the Sampah Aja application can be more widely used
• I also want to connect waste bank entrepreneurs to connect with Sampah Aja
