Inspiration
Since being stuck at home gets really boring (and sometimes depressing), we wanted to make something that would cheer people up! We called it Salmon Cheese because of its color palette, and because salmon and cheese also cheer us up.
What it does
We picked out our personal favorite YouTube videos online, and put them into a list that randomly generates one of the videos every time the user presses the button. You can demo our project here: https://salmon-cheese.glitch.me/
How we built it
We used HTML, JavaScript, and CSS using glitch's hosting platform, and embedded the YouTube URL for users to watch the videos.
Challenges we ran into
We decided to make a project very late to the event's start, so we created this project in about an hour due to a lack of time.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We made a product that we personally would like to use in the future to cheer ourselves up! We also found some iconic videos in the process 😤
What we learned
We learned how to embed videos into the HTML, and learned some new CSS animation techniques.
What's next for Salmon-Cheese
We want users to be able to input their own favorite YouTube videos to update the list for everyone to use!
