Inspiration

Field sales teams often struggle with bloated CRM systems that are slow, complex, and ill-suited for on-the-go input. We wanted to build something lightweight, fast, and intuitive—tailored for real-world use in the field.

What it does

SalesBoard lets field sales reps log customer interactions and product sales in under a minute using a simple, mobile-friendly interface. Sales managers can access visual dashboards and export monthly reports with ease.

How we built it

We built a mobile-first web app using React for the frontend and Firebase for real-time data storage and synchronization. The system supports quick data entry and manager-facing tools for analysis and report generation.

Challenges we ran into

One major challenge was maintaining a balance between simplicity and functionality. We needed to ensure that field users could input data quickly with minimal friction, while still enabling managers to perform meaningful sales analysis.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We developed a fully functional prototype that enables data input in under 60 seconds. Early testers highlighted its intuitive interface and the clarity of the generated dashboards as standout features.

What we learned

Sales tools must respect the user's time and real-world constraints. We learned how thoughtful design choices—like fewer clicks, clear layout, and mobile optimization—can significantly enhance field productivity.
