Inspiration

As Muslim teens ourselves, we often feel the tension between our faith and the modern world. Whether it's peer pressure at school, challenges online, or navigating friendships, we noticed a lack of resources in schools, and in our ever day life that educate us about the right path in a fun and engaging way. so we were inspired to create Sakinah, a mobile app that simulates real-life scenarios and guides users through Islamic decision-making.

What it does

Sakinah is an interactive mobile app that guides Muslim teens through realistic life situations using scenario-based simulations. Each scenario presents a moral or social dilemma (e.g., peer pressure, modesty, media exposure) and asks the user to make a decision. Based on their choice they receive instant Islamic feedback backed by Qur’an or Hadith. users earn or lose points based on their decisions. users also track their progress over time through a personalized profile. it also includes AI-powered recommendations for scenarios based on user trends. A gamified reward system to keep users engaged.

How we built it

we built it by making an outline of what we wanted and created different versions for testing, one version on figma and one on replit and another on expo.dev

Challenges we ran into

Time constraints were a big problem for us Designing, coding, writing, and testing everything in just two days required serious focus and teamwork.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

the result of two functioning websites and our ability to collaborate effiecienty

What we learned

How to design a product that aligns with Islamic values while also being user-friendly.

How to collaborate under pressure and divide roles effectively.

That coding can be a form of da’wah when done with intention.

The importance of building for the community not just for prizes.

What's next for Sakinah

Add more diverse scenarios based on teen feedback (bullying, online behavior, identity, etc.).

Launch a voiceover feature for accessibility and engagement.

Build a leaderboard system for healthy motivation and competition.

Partner with masajid and youth groups to reach a wider audience.

Develop a parent/mentor dashboard to support teen users behind the scenes.
