Inspiration

We Know how difficult and important it is for a women to maintain their health and hygiene. Nearly 2% of women living in rural areas suffer menstrual disorders due to lack of proper resources. Our aim is to bridge down this gap and provide a digital solution which can help women to find the needed lavatories or Sanitary stores quickly.

What it does

Our app shows the list of all available women lavatories and Sanitary stores in the nearby surrounding which is of a great help when they are in a completely new surroundings and environment. These stores and lavatories are plotted on a map, on which women can also see their current location.

How we built it

We built the app using :

1. Flutter
2. Express.Js
3. Open Street Map Flutter package

Challenges we ran into

Functional challenges

Getting the list of all the resources such as women lavatory and stores available in the particular area

Technical challenges

We don't have a lot of experience in Flutter, so using Flutter with Maps was a bit hard. Also we are fetching all the coordinates of nearby lavatories and sanitary shops from our Express.JS API, it was a challenge for us to perform networking in flutter app.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are very proud of the fact that this app is built towards women health and hygiene which is somewhat a topic which society needs to look into and this will help a needy at the 13th hour.

What's next for Sakhi

This app can be turned up into a full fledged women health and hygiene app which will guide the unknowns about general facts and can raise awareness in the society. Women can give rating to the places listed on map to help other women judge the quality of the location.
