The Story of Sajag: Giving Time Back to the Heroes
🌟 The Inspiration: The "One-Man" Bottleneck
The idea for Sajag started with a simple observation: one person can only do so much. We saw people like Ravi—coordinators who are the only point of contact for hundreds of others. During busy seasons, Ravi’s phone never stops buzzing. He gets the same questions over and over, mixed in with real emergencies and technical glitches.
Because he is only one human, he becomes a bottleneck. If he misses a message, someone’s work stops. We wanted to build a way for people like Ravi to grow their business without burning out or losing their "human touch."
🧠 How We Built It: The "Shadow Member"
We used the MeDo platform to create an AI "Shadow Member" that works 24/7. We didn't want to replace the human; we wanted to give them a partner that says, "Don't worry, I've got this."
We built a brain for the app that does three simple things:
- It Listens: It reads every incoming chat message instantly.
- It Sorts: It figures out if a message is a simple question (answered from a PDF), a technical error (sent to IT), or a real emergency.
- It Acts: It answers the easy stuff and saves the important stuff for the manager to handle personally.
🚧 Challenges We Faced
The biggest challenge was making sure the AI was 100% accurate. In business, a "pretty good" guess isn't enough—it has to be right. We had to set up strict rules so the AI only uses the documents we give it. If it doesn't know the answer, it learns to stay quiet and ask for help instead of making things up.
📚 What We Learned
Building Sajag taught us that AI is at its best when it does the "boring" work.
By letting the AI handle 80% of the repetitive questions and data entry, we give the human manager 100% of their energy back to focus on the things that actually matter—relationships and big decisions. We learned that with a "Sajag" (Vigilant) partner, one person can support an entire community and still have time to breathe.
