Inspiration

Being the first supermarket bank to open in Britain Sainsbury's Bank is a well-known brand and therefore creating a loyalty program to understand "Behind the Scenes" of this program would give us an interesting and technical image of Sainsbury's loyalty system.

What it does

The website that we are presenting mainly focuses on creating a detailed analysis of three categories

-Revenue Analytics

-Expenditure Analytics

-Reward Analytics

under the Data Analytics of the Managerial Dashboard.

It stimulates Sainsbury's backend API to generate a condensed graph of the revenue, expenditure, and reward analysis by typing in the years.

How we built it

We initially came up with a design for a customer loyalty program from the managerial perspective. To implement the same, we used HTML & CSS to design and style the Managerial Dashboard on the front-end side; likewise, we made use of classes and objects in python on the back-end side to create a database of customer profiles, reflecting data analytics for particular years.

Challenges we ran into

--The major challenge was completing the project within the given time and trying to develop a presentable managerial dashboard for a huge brand.

--As Sainsbury works with many experienced developers creating a project that would have a practical function seemed challenging.

--Not having an access to the data of Sainsbury's actual customers, simulating the process with the hypothetical generated data was also a task.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

-- Completing it before the deadline

-- Simulating the hypothetical data

-- Combing the allocated tasks successfully into a final presentation by coding the logic, simulating the databases, and designing the front-end user website.

What we learned

-- We learned about Sainsbury's successful customer loyalty programs.

-- Understanding and practically using a coding application of our skills

-- Understanding the use of Classes and Objects better

What's next for Sainsbury's bank loyalty system

We have a lot planned as there is always a place for development! The upcoming systems that we plan to add to the current project are the Rewards and Current Customers sections.

'Rewards' plans to have proper planned chart data of multiple reward schemes like 'Scratch Cards', 'Spending Targets', and 'Referrals' offered by Sainsbury.

'Current Customers' plans to have 'Customer Profile', 'Nectar Points', and 'Savings Account' to go through the data of the current customers to manually keep a check to resolve any customer queries.

Eventually, we also plan to add a 'Promotions' section, that allows the managerial department to make announcements or send emails about promotions with just one push, also adding a feature to schedule it for future announcements!
