SailSim includes real world lessons and content from text books used for learning sailing. Me being a sailor for over 20 years now gives a unique perspective to the idea and by combining the ability to present this knowledge with the Epic Tool Set i believe it can be a really excellent experience overall.

I try to include vessels i personally sailed or vessels similar to them. SailSim provides many dynamic functionality you would notice while sailing as well as tries to give additional simulation features to enhance what you would feel and expect at sea. A good example of this would be how a vessel reacts when changing directions, trying to go in reverse or even going too fast among others.

Different vessels and their simulated characteristics within the virtual environment through firsthand experience of actually sailing them, gives a very good accuracy as to what to expect to someone thinking of sailing for real, without making things too boring while maintaining a "Playful" tone.

Currently SailSim is a well-rounded simulator with its basic layout being used by many users. As the content is mostly limited at the current stage to lessons, I would like to expand on the idea with much more. Add additional simulation platforms such as Underwater ROV’s, Ships and other marine vehicles. I have ideas on how to better present sailing conditions in storms, tides as well as ocean crossings in a well-rounded graphical representation and better environments.

Some also suggested to expand on the "imaginary" part of sailing with old ships that no longer sail the seas. I love the idea but this requires research in much more depth as to the technical characteristics of those vessels and quite a lot of modeling based on long forgotten blueprints.

Translations and accessibility plays a huge role in the amount of people who can get access to the content so i would also like to expand on this with investing in the translations of the entire database SailSim currently has as well as future additions.

Am also very thrilled with the idea of VR development since there is a large opportunity being lost in the VR spectrum in general as to what can be achieved for Sailing and its learning curve. Just being able to sit inside a vessel and sail just for fun or learn is something i wanted to do for a long time now.

My general goal is to create the ultimate learning as well as fun experience for sailing in the virtual world, may it be on Mobile, PC or VR.

Updated the release to a more Up to date version. This time it includes the Cross-Play functionality, Age restrictions as well as other features which are included in the OVR SDK. Deep Links and Presence messages along with graphical improvements. (PS: In Cross Play, the "Meta" logo is shown fine when a race is initiated from Meta. I will update the Windows, Linux, iOS and Android packages as well and publish them so they too can see the newly added platform in the Cross Play system because right now if the race is initiated from an iPhone for example and the version is not up to date, Meta users see their system as an empty image since the database takes the platform logo from the initiators side. Its just a visual quirk which will be synced once every platform is up to date.)

Finished integrating Hand Tracking and gesture recognition onto SailSim. Is pretty fun to control the rudder and Boom with your hands. Much more immersive i think. So many possibilities opened up with Hand Tracking. Was worried the Quest 3 controllers didn't have some additional buttons you normally find on a Game Controller but with this i can really add as many controls as i want through Gestures and tracking. The Controller - Hand Tracking switching works just fine. Was a bit tricky to find the correct way to identify Tracking when Quest switches from one to the other but i think it looks pretty seamless with a slight delay between the two.

Submitted my initial revised build for the Meta Shop. Wasn't easy integrating and redoing a lot of things to take the load off the GPU and reach the Required Frame Rate. Still am working on it and am trying to make SailSim work even smoother and faster. Having a blast :)
