Inspiration
We were inspired by underrated daily activity of cloud gazing, and its relevant phenomena of pareidolia. It explores the mundane and brings in a human aspect to an experience.
What it does
"Embark on a journey of release in Said and Lost, a social VR experience. Explore a realm where secrets manifest as unique cloud formations. Identify the shape of a cloud that resonates with you, inviting it closer. Listen to the whispered burdens it carries, and witness its dissolution as the secret finds its freedom. Experience the profound lightness that comes with releasing the weight of long-held secrets."
Invitation to cloud hunt: Use your hand as a tool. Frame your hands to gaze at a particular cloud to call it towards you. Listen respectfully: Hold out your hands to receive an anonymous secret, and listen respectfully.
Future prospect: If you wish to leave behind something, to get weight off your shoulder, you might engage in the activity of cloud shaping. The cloud turns into a water bubble shaped as a jar, a jar for you to outpour your heart into.
How we built it
Using bezi, figma, generated audio from elevenlabs, sketchfab
Challenges we ran into
We ideated and executed in a span of two days. We tried constraining ourselves to ideate for the contextual AI+XR track but unwillingly ended up with games track. We did not force fit anything and let the project take its own course.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We ideated and executed in a span of two days. The execution was done in a span of 4 hours despite our busy schedules. We did not want any of our prior efforts to go in vain. Finding a common ground despite straying away from our constraints and being open to ideas/suggestions.
What we learned
To stay calm until the end. That starting with making something is better than building mind castles.
What's next for Said and Lost
A cloud shaping activity to the flow, where one is invited to share their secret to be converted into a heavy cloud and carried away by the wind. A give and take atmosphere where you realise you are not alone. Another layering is witnessing audience's reaction to the clouds that one leaves behind.
