Sahaita: Bridging the Digital Divide for People with Disabilities
Inspiration
People with disabilities are often excluded from the digital world due to inaccessible mainstream platforms. These platforms lack features that make it difficult to navigate, understand information, and complete tasks independently. Sahaita aims to bridge this gap and empower people with disabilities.
UN Sustainable Development Goal: Reducing Inequalities
Sahaita directly addresses the UN Sustainable Development Goal of reducing inequalities by creating a digital platform specifically designed for people with disabilities. By incorporating features like screen reader compatibility, voice navigation, and a simplified interface, Sahaita empowers people with disabilities to access communication tools, financial transactions, and job opportunities independently. This not only fosters greater social inclusion but also equips them with the resources needed to achieve economic stability and improve their overall well-being.

Challenges Faced
We encountered a challenge where the WhatsApp library lacked support for group chats. We had to modify the library within the node_modules directory to add this functionality.
