About the Project
💡 Inspiration
We were inspired by how difficult it can be to find the right help during stressful situations. People may not know which hospital, clinic, or support service to contact. We wanted to make finding help simple, fast, and accessible.
🛠️ How We Built It
SAHAAY is a multilingual AI-powered web platform. Users describe what they need in simple words, select their location, and SAHAAY identifies the type of help required and displays relevant resources.
We built the frontend using React and Vite and the backend using Python Flask. The platform provides resource details such as location, contact information, directions, and sharing options.
📚 What We Learned
Through this project, we learned how to:
- Build a complete frontend and backend application.
- Connect React with a Flask API.
- Process natural-language user requests.
- Design a simple and accessible user interface.
- Deploy a full-stack project using cloud platforms.
🚧 Challenges
One of our biggest challenges was connecting the frontend with the backend and making resource results work correctly based on the user's request and location. We also faced challenges with deployment, API connections, and handling different types of user queries.
🌍 Impact
SAHAAY aims to help people find the right support faster, especially during stressful or urgent situations. Our goal is simple: make help easier to find when people need it most.
