Saha – The Gentle Menstrual Companion

Inspiration

Saha was born from personal pain and a shared need. As someone navigating the fog of endometriosis, I knew what it felt like to be dismissed, misdiagnosed, and misunderstood. The inspiration came from every late diagnosis, every "it's just a bad period," and every woman and gender-diverse person still searching for a name to their pain. Saha is our way of saying: you're not overreacting, and you deserve care that listens.

What it does

Saha is a menstrual and hormonal health tracker designed with empathy at its core. It helps users track periods, symptoms, mood swings, and pain patterns — especially for chronic conditions like endometriosis, PCOS, PMDD, and more. Beyond tracking, it gently nudges users towards body awareness, offering insights after 2-3 logged cycles, all while ensuring full privacy. It supports both diagnosed and undiagnosed individuals, creating a safe space without judgment.

How we built it

We used Bolt’s AI builder for the initial framework, integrating intuitive UI design with shades of crimson and pomegranate for warmth and strength. Saha is designed to be simple yet intelligent. We focused on minimal clicks, soft animations, and a gentle interface flow. A backend logic for cycle-based pattern recognition was added to analyze trends after 2–3 recorded cycles. All features were layered carefully to work with the existing dashboard without overwhelming the user.

Challenges we ran into

  • Designing for both diagnosed and undiagnosed users while keeping the UX seamless.
  • Creating a non-triggering, emotionally sensitive interface that avoids medical overwhelm.
  • Building a meaningful analysis module that waits for adequate data instead of rushing insights.
  • Balancing simplicity with depth — so that users feel guided, not managed.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Saha is neurodivergent and disability-inclusive by design — simple, soft, and self-paced.
  • We built a working model in under a week with clean UI and functional tracking logic.
  • Real user feedback from endometriosis patients validated our approach.
  • Integrated sanitary napkin directories featuring safe, body-positive options like those from Zoy.

What we learned

  • Empathy isn't a feature — it's the foundation. The more we built, the more we realized how much tech tends to dismiss the body in favor of data. Saha reversed that lens.
  • Period tracking is not just about dates. It's about understanding what your body is trying to tell you, gently and in your own language.
  • Even something as personal as pain can be translated into a product that heals, informs, and respects.

What's next for Saha

  • Expand symptom analysis with AI-powered insight cards after three cycles.
  • Include a gentle chatbot for guidance, emotional support, and user education.
  • Add endo and PCOS-specific tracking extensions.
  • Build a "Care Circle" feature where users can privately share updates with chosen caregivers.
  • Launch in regional languages and offer offline logging for accessibility.

Saha isn’t just a tracker. It’s a companion. For every person who's ever been told to “just deal with it,” we built this for you.
